Getting Started
Download Gruu, pick a breed, and give your companion a name — no account, no sign-up, no credit card. In about 30 seconds you have a pet that lives on your phone and depends on you to move.
When prompted, allow Gruu access to Motion & Fitness. That permission is what lets your pet react to real steps from your phone's pedometer.
My steps aren't counting
Gruu reads steps from your phone's built-in pedometer. If your pet isn't reacting to walks:
- Open the iOS Settings app → Gruu → turn on Motion & Fitness.
- Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness and confirm Fitness Tracking is enabled.
- Carry your phone with you on a walk — steps sync the next time you open the app.
Accounts, data & devices
Gruu has no accounts and runs primarily on-device, so your pet and progress live on the phone where you adopted them. Because there's nothing to log into, we can't transfer a pet between devices today.
